Good morning and thank you for spending time with DMS.

Good morning, it is always a pleasure to meet up with old friends.

How busy is Lurgi in the Middle East ?

At the moment, Lurgi is concentrating on consolidating it’s presence in the Gulf countries. We are bidding for major projects in Qatar Petroleum and the U.A.E.

Which ongoing projects are Lurgi involved in both in Saudi Arabia and globally?

Lurgi is currently involved in the Al Alaujain - Al Fasel – Propane Dehydrogenation Plant project in Yanbu and SIPCHEM Expansion projects. We are also executing large projects in Malaysia. Our interest also expands to the Algerian petrochemical and the Egyptian oil and gas industries.

In your opinion, can any comparison be made between the construction industry in the Middle East versus in the West ?

The construction industry is booming at the moment in the Gulf. The fact that multi-national companies are investing in the region is evidence of this. There has been a sudden influx of projects here in the oil, gas and civil construction industries. Projects like the Rastanura Refinery and the two export refineries in Saudi Arabia are the outcome of long term planning. Projects in the chemical industry are also of major interest.

What targets does Lurgi hope to achieve in the next five years?

We are aiming to become the leader in the industry.

What interest does Lurgi have in the GES Conference being organised by DMS?

We are very interested in attending and participating in such a conference. We wish DMS the very best and extend our full cooperation.

How do you rate the DMS Correspondent project tracking system in relation to other competitors in the market?

We are yet to use the system but we look forward to subscribing in the future.

How is Lurgi enhancing it’s technology sector?

Lurgi provides technologies to the gas, gas to petrochemical, petrochemical, bio-fuels, and the food and chemical industries. We provide world class technologies which we are always aiming to improve.
